Money for Lawsuits

"See you in court," can often mean see you in several months or even a few years. While a personal injury, automobile, medical malpractice, product liability, commercial litigation or similar case goes through the legal system, neither the plaintiff nor the plaintiff's attorney see any money until the case settles-the plaintiff and his or her attorney either reach an out-of-court settlement or they win the case. Providing money for lawsuits to plaintiffs (both individuals and businesses) and attorneys is a relatively new concept. Advancing money for lawsuits is known as "legal finance" or "presettlement funding." A portion of the projected recovery is advanced to the victim and/or his or her attorney to cover expenses.

Money advanced against lawsuits is non-recourse financing. That means that the funds advanced to a plaintiff or attorney against the future proceeds of a lawsuit are only repaid if the case is won or a settlement is reached between the plaintiff and the defendant. If the case is lost, the company that advanced money against the lawsuit forfeits those funds!

Money for Lawsuits
enables victims of personal injury accidents, automobile accidents, industrial accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, commercial litigation and similar cases to receive money against the future proceeds of their lawsuits months or years before the case settles. LawMax ( www.fundmycase.com) is a pioneer in legal finance or pre-settlement funding, having provided thousands of cash advances to lawsuit plaintiffs since 1999. Money advanced against a lawsuit is often the only alternative for a plaintiff in financial distress. Often unable to work, and with bills piling up, applying for up-front money against his or her lawsuit keeps a plaintiff's head above water, and is sometimes the only alternative to homelessness!

Money can also be advanced to attorneys involved in lengthy lawsuits and in need of cash to cover the costs of running their law practices.

When LawMax receives an application for money against a lawsuit, a decision is usually made within 24-48 hours of receiving all required documentation. Both plaintiffs and attorneys can apply for money against their lawsuit settlements on-line at www.fundmycase.com or they can call 877-788-CASH. After a plaintiff applies to LawMax for money against a lawsuit, an underwriter at LawMax contacts the plaintiff's attorney to request the documentation needed to evaluate the plaintiff's request.

Once a lawsuit advance is approved, a contract is sent to the plaintiff's attorney. The plaintiff must sign the contract for the money advanced against his or her lawsuit, and the plaintiff's attorney must acknowledge the agreement because it is the attorney who will repay the advance when he or she distributes funds from the final settlement of the lawsuit.
